The terms that govern
your use of humanise.ai.
Use it for text you have the right to rewrite. Don't use it to defraud, impersonate, or harass. Liability capped at £100 or your last 12 months' fees, whichever is greater. English law.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of humaniseai.ai (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
humanise.ai provides software that rewrites text to sound more natural and editorial. The Service is provided on an as-is basis. Outputs are generated by third-party large language models and we make no guarantee of accuracy, originality, non-infringement, or suitability for any particular purpose. We do not guarantee that any rewrite will bypass any specific AI-detection tool, pass any specific institutional policy, or be free of errors.
2. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You will not:
- Submit text that is illegal under the laws of England and Wales or your own jurisdiction — including CSAM, credible threats, unlawful harassment, or content that incites violence.
- Use the Service to produce content that infringes another person's intellectual property, right of publicity, or privacy.
- Use the Service to create defamatory, harassing, fraudulent, discriminatory, or threatening content.
- Use the Service to evade an academic-integrity policy in a manner that would constitute plagiarism or contract cheating under the rules of your institution. Running AI-generated text through a humaniser does not make a submission compliant with a "no AI" rule — see AI policy.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service, including by sending automated requests outside our published rate limits, or except through our published API under a valid key.
- Attempt to discover or exploit vulnerabilities except via responsible disclosure (see Security).
- Resell, sublicense, or white-label the Service without a written agreement from us.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. Serious violations may be reported to law-enforcement or to the relevant institution.
3. Your content
You retain all rights to the text you submit. By submitting text, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to process it solely to provide the Service and to return a rewritten version to you. We do not use your text to train models and we do not sell it to third parties.
You represent that you have the rights necessary to submit the text and that doing so does not violate any contract, law, or third-party right.
4. Accounts and subscriptions
Some future features may require an account. You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
Paid subscriptions, if and when offered, will be billed in advance on a monthly or annual cycle as selected. You may cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and no refund is owed for partial periods except where required by law.
We may change prices for future billing cycles by giving at least 30 days' notice by email.
5. Refunds
The core humaniser is free. If a paid service fails materially in its first 14 days for a new paid customer, email hello@humaniseai.ai and we will refund the first month's subscription fee in full. Outside that window, refunds are at our discretion and in accordance with applicable consumer law (including, for UK and EU consumers, the statutory cooling-off period).
6. Intellectual property
The Service — including its source code, design, logos, and documentation — is owned by the operators of humanise.ai and protected by intellectual-property law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. No other rights are granted by implication.
7. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers, including Anthropic, PBC for its language model and Cloudflare for hosting and delivery. Their terms and acceptable-use policies apply in addition to ours. We are not responsible for outages or changes in those services.
8. Warranties and disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT RESULTS WILL BE FREE OF ERRORS OR MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, OR THAT OUTPUTS WILL PASS ANY PARTICULAR AI-DETECTION TOOL.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (a) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, AND (b) £100. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THEIR POSSIBILITY.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including — in the UK — liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for services supplied to consumers.
10. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against any third-party claim arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of a third party's rights through content you submit.
11. Termination
Either party may terminate an account at any time. We may suspend the Service without notice if we reasonably believe you are violating these Terms or causing harm. On termination, sections 3 (in respect of already-submitted text), 6, 8, 9, 10, and 13 survive.
12. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced by email (if you hold an account) or in-product at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any competent court.
If you are a consumer resident in the EU or the UK, you have the benefit of any mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence, and nothing in these Terms affects your non-waivable statutory rights.
